Siberian Husky - Medium - Senior - Female - Dog - Magic

We work in eastern PA, southern NJ, and parts of MD and DE depending on distance.Magic is a very dear and happy senior Siberian Husky.  We estimate her age to be about 14, so we are hoping to find a home who is prepared to love her, but also be prepared to not have her for very long.   She does “leak” urine…both in her sleep and as she walks around her house.  The medicine that the vet provided for this problem makes Magic’s stomach upset so her foster home has stopped giving it to her and is just careful to clean up the dribbles.   Her arthritis is fairly advanced and she definitely needs help by being carried up and down steps if there are more than 2 to tackle.  Her gait is slow but steady and she LOVES to go for frequent walks during the day.  She stops often to smell and explore giving her human a lesson in life.  “Life is a journey and each step along the way is more important than the destination”.   She meets new dogs with a playful disposition, but she is unable to engage in active play due to her age.  We are not quite sure how she is with cats, but we think she would curiously sniff them and walk away.  She may attempt to take chase, but certainly would not be able to catch any!Magic does not need a fenced yard, but does need to be leashed at all times.  She attempts to chase cars and could seriously get hurt if not leashed.  She also is forgetful of her whereabouts at times and could easily get lost.  I think they call this “Dogsheimers”.Although the urine can be a problem for some people, it really is very easy to care for and the gentle love that Magic will share with you will be well worth the effort.  We are hoping to find a retired or semi-retired person who is looking for a companion in whom to enjoy each day. All of our dogs are housebroken, up to date on all shots, heartworm negative, on heartworm and flea/tick prevention, and crate trained (or working on it!) They are living in homes with foster families, not in a shelter or kennel. We work in eastern PA, southern NJ, and parts of MD and DE depending on distance. We cannot adopt to people outside of that area.We do not have a kennel facility, our foster dogs live in the homes of our volunteers.
