Ilived the earlier part of my life as a chained dog and when my family was bored with me, I was dropped at a gassing shelter through no fault of my own. When I arrived at the shelter I was matted and had fly bites all over my ears. Luckily, some local volunteers and Thunder's Angels saved me! I am now in foster care learning how good life can be indoors - I have a soft bed, air conditioning and a full bowl of food each day and I am grateful for it all! The skin on my ears has healed and my fur is now soft and clean! I still like the outdoors - I LOVE going for walks outside and sniffing all around and I do great on a leash now that my foster mom has taught me leash manners.  You can read more of my story on our Before and After page: http://www.helpsaveme.org/before-and-after.phpI will probably be happiest in a home that has a fenced yard or with someone who is willing to take me on several walks a day. When I'm inside, I love looking out the window watching squirrels with my foster brother and new friend, Teddy. I'm good with other dogs but only if I'm introduced to them slowly so I might be happiest as the only dog in the home. I haven't been exposed to any cats yet and I haven't spent a great amount of time with children. I have a sweet, easy going personality and I LOVE soaking up affection from people - I respond so well to my foster mom - I am definitely loyal and would love to have a person to devote a lot of time and attention to me. In my foster home, I learned what toys and rawhides are and I love them now! I am a quiet dog and I only bark when something outside alarms me – I will make a great watch dog but true to my breed, I'm also a great and loyal companion. I am housetrained and crate trained and I'm a healthy boy - I was recently neutered and I am heartworm negative. I am up to date on all shots, heartguard and frontline and I have been dewormed. I don't photograph well because I'm all black but when people meet me, they say that I'm as cute as a teddy bear and that I'm so soft!
