James Dean(JD) has been in foster care this summer. He loves to get out to explore on long walks and goes easily on a leash. Other pleasures include riding in the car, having his ears scratched, sitting in the afternoon sun and being close to his human leader. He gets along with all the dogs he meets on the street but will bark at some cats he encounters. Until very recently, he did not bark at all in the house. Now he will bark for my teenager and her pals when they walk through his "room" and go out of sight! He is gentle with young children. JD is obedient, knows how to sit, will stop barking when told "no" and absolutely loves to curl up on the couch when you want him to.He is small so he does need to go outside on a schedule and be crated when alone for more than 2-3 hours. He was probabaly very spoiled as a young dog. His teeth are healed and he has really filled out since his rescue last winter. He is an excellent apartment dog and traveling companion. You just cannot help to smile when you see his big ears, eyes and wagging tail waiting for love when you get home!JD (James Dean) is a senior Chihuahua ~5lbs. JD did get his dental cleaning and is feeling much healthier. He is an easy keeper and very well behaved in the crate, he seems to be housebroken.Adoption Fees are as follows: $250.....if the dog needs to be spayed/neutered (required) you get a $50 refund when we receive proof of spay/neuter.This pet is up-to-date on vaccinations and worming, and is Heartworm, Lymes, and Ehrlichia negative unless otherwise noted. This pet is micro-chipped.Unless otherwise noted, the dogs available through LCR's small companion program have been rescued from area shelters.Information on housetraining, compatibility, history, and temperament may not be known. We will post updated information as it becomes available.Each dog is tested on arrival for Lymes, Heartworm, and Ehrlichia.LCR provides all required vaccinations, de-worming, microchipping.Dogs are started on flea protection and started on heartworm preventative provided they've tested negative, and groomed when desperately needed and resources allow.PLEASE NOTE--Visits with all pets listed are by APPOINTMENT ONLY.
