***This is a courtesy posting - this dog is not in the care of Forever Home Rescue*** Meet Nu Nu. She's just over a year old, and has become yet another four-legged victim of the economy. Nu Nu's family lost their home and asked somebody to keep her for two weeks until they got moved into a new house where they could have her. Unfortunately Nu Nu's family seems to have forgotten her and now she needs a new home. Nu Nu had two kids in her former home and just loves kids. As a matter of fact, Nu Nu seems to love just about everybody she's met, but she is choosy about her canine companions. She plays well with the 12-week old puppy next door, but does not care for some of the beagles in her temporary home. She definately does not like the other dogs coming near when she is eating, but is fine with a person moving her bowl. Nu Nu is house- and crate-trained. She will enter her crate on command and settles without much, if any, vocalizing. Although her previous family said that she did very occasionally have accidents, she has not had an accident of any type in her temporary home. It is not known if she was crated in her previous home. It needs to be a sturdy crate, though, as Nu Nu did chew through one crate in her temporary home, but it was an older crate and may have been cracked to start with. Nu Nu doesn't have very good "house manners" when it comes to the kitchen, jumping up to see what's on the counter and stove and showing a LOT of interest in the trash can (her temporary home has a lidded trash can, but an open one would have been dumped) Nu Nu really doesn't get the concept of personal space, she really, really thinks that she's a lap-dog, and will join you on the couch and snuggle right in. Don't get the idea that she's a couch-potato, though! Nu Nu loves her walks, she pulls very strongly and her temporary home uses a Sporn Halter to deal with this, and she has thoroughly enjoyed the dog park on her visits there. Nu Nu can be a bit of a "resource guarder" when it comes to "her" people, wanting to warn other dogs away. Nu Nu will need a firm hand and an obedience class is definately in order, but she is a fun-loving, active dog who just wants some love and attention.
