Rottweiler - Large - Adult - Female - Dog - Saint
Description
I first met Saint at a high kill shelter where she was brought in as a stray. I took this beautiful 2 year old, 66 lb (but a little thin) shepherd/rottie mix out of her cage and was impressed at how calm and collected she was inspite of the stressful conditions of the shelter environment. She calmly stood there, all the while being alert and watchful, and allowed me to pet and handle her all over while there were people and other dogs all milling about us. After getting comfortable with me she leaned against my leg in that rottie way. She is a beautiful combination of shepherd and rottie but someone accentuated her rottie look by cropping her tail. She did very well on her behavior evaluation at the shelter scoring very high marks for everything but she did show signs of food guarding (no aggression but did not lift her head and gulped her food faster). Due to this and the fact that she was a stray with an unknown background history we feel that an adult only household or one with older, dog savvy children would be best for this beautiful girl.
