Basset Hound - Medium - Adult - Male - Dog - Jake - NY

Say Hello to this big hearted, and big bodied Basset Hound. What he lacks in ear length he makes up for in personality! A big lug, he really needs a family that will bond to him forever. Relinquished as a young pup, he was adopted to a family that had him for 6 years before deciding to take him back to the very shelter he had been brought to years earlier. Stressed and sad at the shelter he began losing his fur and desire to live. The shelter realized his dire emotional state and contacted a rep from MABR. Jake has once again found the comfort of lounging in a warm comfy chair and is beginning to find his wag again. Jake does well with other dogs and is fine with cats. His previous owners neglected to trim his nails so his new family must be diligent about getting them back to normal length. Jake is a bit on the portly ( chubby) side too so he will need a very high quality, low carb food to help get some weight off. He will happily go for a long walk with you. Jake is neutered and UTD on shots. Jake hopes to find his forever home soon so that he can once again fall in love with a family who will not break his heart again.
