Quarterhorse - Large - Adult - Male - Horse - 8-Ball
Description
8-Ball is a stout 11 year old liver chestnut Quarterhorse gelding, standing approximately 15+ hands. He was seized in an HPO investigation last year. We didnt ride him for several months because his hooves needed to completely grow out after the initial trimming but his feet look great now and withthe weather warming up, we are starting to ride him regularly.8-Ball is a smart and sweet horse with very good ground manners, but currently we recommend that he be adopted by an intermediate rider. We think 8-Ball has a good amount of training in the Western discipline, but he is very sensitive, and is quick/responsive in ways that a beginner may not be able to handle. These traits suggest that he was previously used for some sort of gaming (e.g. team penning or barrel racing). Thus, in the short term, he needs a rider that will take time to keep him calm and manageable.When he is relaxed he is very comfortable doing circles, stops, and turns in the arena. We have not taken him out on trails much yet, but based on what we know now, we expect him to be a good trail horse. This is a horse with tremendous potential that an intermediate rider can work with to do many different events and activities if he/she is willing to take the time to get to know him and learn how to keep him calm.Placement Fee: $1,200Last Chance Ranch is located in Quakertown PA.
